Why do Roma and Lazio share a stadium instead of each having their own?
Both clubs moved into the purpose-built Stadio Olimpico in 1953, and neither has built its own ground since — Roma's own Curva Sud and Lazio's Curva Nord give each set of fans a fixed end even though the stadium itself belongs to neither club.
What else is the Stadio Olimpico used for?
Beyond hosting Roma and Lazio's home games on alternate weeks, it is also the regular venue for the Coppa Italia final, Italy's domestic cup.

AS Roma and Lazio have shared the Stadio Olimpico since 1953, taking it in turns to host: one plays at home one week, the other away the next. The Derby della Capitale is one of the very few top-flight derbies played by two clubs sharing one ground.
