Why do Roma and Lazio share a stadium instead of each having their own?
Both clubs moved into the purpose-built Stadio Olimpico in 1953, and neither has built its own ground since — Roma's own Curva Sud and Lazio's Curva Nord give each set of fans a fixed end even though the stadium itself belongs to neither club.
What else is the Stadio Olimpico used for?
Beyond hosting Roma and Lazio's home games on alternate weeks, it is also the regular venue for the Coppa Italia final, Italy's domestic cup.
When does the Serie A season run?
Italy's top flight runs from August to May; the 2026/27 season begins the weekend of 22–23 August 2026 and concludes the weekend of 29–30 May 2027.
